Whistler Health Care Foundation’s Dr. Rob Burgess Primary Care Fund:
Whistler 360 Health has partnered with Whistler Health Care Foundation (WCHF), Whistler’s premier health care charity, to fundraise for primary care initiatives in the community. WHCF can also support donations of securities.
Consider a donation to the Dr. Rob Burgess Primary Care Fund. Rob was a pioneer of full-service, 24-7, on-call family practice in Whistler. He came to Whistler in 1978 to be the on-mountain doctor and founded Whistler Medical Clinic (now Whistler 360 Health), Whistler’s largest family practice. Rob also joined the ski patrol as Whistler Mountain’s in-house doctor establishing many of the health and safety protocols that are still in place today, and he coached youth hockey. A passionate mentor to other primary care team members and a physician who believed in having a life-long relationship with his patients, we are honoured to be able to recognize his legacy through this fund. Rob passed away after a short battle with cancer in 2021.
The Nicky Hedley Bursary:
Or consider a donation to the Nicky Hedley Bursary, founded to develop group and individual programs to further educate medical support team members and increase their professional knowledge, practitioner collaboration, job satisfaction and ultimately enhance patient care within Whistler 360 Health.
Nicky was known to always go the extra mile for clinic patients, and as an organizational genius, she helped primary care staff stay on track every day. She called Whistler home for 26 years and worked at the Whistler Medical Clinic for 17 of those years finding her calling in helping people—it was part of her DNA. Loved by all who knew her, donating to this bursary will help ensure Nicky’s legacy lives on. Nicky passed away from cancer in 2022.
